Electronic cigarettes have been around now for about 3 years or so and seem to be available from an ever increasing number of websites.
Ask the average person on the street and they will probably not have heard of them or, if they have, then they will know very little about them. Although for those who have, the public acceptance of electronic cigarette is growing some what.
All electronic cigarettes (ecigs) are basically the same. They consist of a battery, a supply of fluid containing (usually) nicotine and an electrically energised coil that heats the fluid. There are also some micro electronics to sense when the user is sucking on the ecig and an led on the end to resemble a lit cigarette. Some ecigs do not have a battery, they simply connect to the USB port on a computer to obtain the power needed.
So, how does somebody new to this choose the right ecig? The short answer is just try one.
Before you part with some cash though you should answer a few questions for yourself to narrow the choice down. Remember that you are TRYING it at first – that involves a level of investment.
Do not go for the big monster vaping devices – they are expensive and may not be for you. After trying vaping you can always advance to the more expensive kit.
Vaping is similar to smoking but it is NOT the same. It is an alternative way to get the nicotine hit that smokers crave but it takes a little getting used to and might not suit everyone. However, the cost savings are huge and you are not inhaling 4000 chemicals that are in smoke, not stinking up your house or car or clothes. You do not stain your teeth or have breath like an ashtray.
· So, back to the questions you should ask.
· How strong do you like your cigarettes?
· If you smoke mild or light cigs then 12 to 16mg is more than enough to start with.
· If you like normal or strong then 16 to 24mg is for you (36 if you are really committed!!)
· What flavour do you like?
· Basic choices are menthol, American (Marlboro type), British or fruit flavoured.
· What charging system do you need?
· A lot of kits offer 3-way chargers that work from mains, car or usb port.
When you start vaping with your new e-cigarette, do not expect it to replace normal cigarettes straight away. You might be lucky – lots of folk are, but more likely, you will find more and more opportunities to vape where you would previously have had a real cigarette. For instance, I used to smoke 40 to 45 a day but now I smoke less than 20. I still enjoy real cigarettes but enjoy the freedom that vaping gives me.
Starter kits from Everything e-cigarette will give you the equivalent of about 300 real cigarettes so there is plenty of time to decide what you want to try next. Maybe you will be happy with the cartridges that come with the kit in which case you only need to order more packs at about 6 each. Maybe now is the time to advance to a higher price and quality unit but you will still be saving lots of money and reducing the intake of the many harmful chemicals in tobacco smoke. The choice is yours.
In any event, it is worth a try – it may turn out to be a turning point in your life.
